TUCSON TAKES THE SERIES IN EXTRA INNINGS

Mazatlán, Sinaloa, November 13, 2025 (TBT Press) – In a thrilling game, Tucson clinched the series by defeating Mazatlán 5-4 in extra innings.

With aggressive play, Tucson quickly opened the scoring in the first inning, crossing home plate twice to take a 2-0 lead over the Mazatlán team. José Carlos Ureña hit a ground ball for an out, driving in a run, and Samar Leyva followed suit, hitting a ground ball for a force out, allowing Jesús Fabela to score.

Mazatlán responded in the bottom of the second inning, scoring a run on a sacrifice fly by Brayan Quintero off Dakota Chalmers.

Tucson regained the lead in the top of the third inning with a passed ball by catcher Christopher Escárrega, allowing Samar Leyva to score the third run for Willie Romero's team.

Brayan Quintero made it 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Fabricio Macías for Mazatlán.

In the bottom of the eighth, Tucson ran into trouble when Andrés Alvarez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, allowing Venados to score the tying run at 3-3. It was a small consolation, as they couldn't capitalize on any further runs, leaving the bases loaded and unable to reach home plate.

In the ninth, Gaige Howard scored the go-ahead run for Tucson on a sacrifice groundout by Ramón Mendoza, giving Arizona a 4-3 lead. In the ninth inning, with two outs and two runners on base, Estamy Ureña singled to drive in Santiago Gómez with the tying run, tying the game at 4. This prompted the removal of Garret Alexander, who couldn't hold onto the lead his team had given him in the top of the inning.

Extra innings were needed in Mazatlán, and Tucson capitalized on a RBI single by River Town, scoring Edgar Lugo for Tucson's fifth run. Venados couldn't get on the board, and the game ended 5-4 in 10 innings. Edwin Valle (2-0) earned the win, pitching one and one-third innings.

 Mazatlán, Sin., 13 de noviembre 2025 (Prensa TBT).- En un juego lleno de emociones, Tucson pudo anotarse la serie al venver a Mazatlán por marcador de 5-4 en entradas extras.

Con agresividad, Tucson abrió rápidamente el marcador en el amanecer del partido, pisando dos veces el pentágono en la misma primera entrada para ponerse arriba 2-0 sobre los porteños.

José Carlos Ureña con rola para out produce una y Samar Leyva lo imita, bateando para out forzado y anotando Jesús Fabela en la jugada.

Mazatlán respondió en el cierre del segundo episodio anotando en una ocasión ante los envíos de Dakota Chalmers en elevado de sacrificio de Brayan Quintero.

Tucson recuperó la ventaja en la apertura del tercer inning, con passed ball del receptor Christopher Escárrega, aprovechando Samar Leyva para anotar la tercera de los pupilos de Willie Romero.

Brayan Quintero se encargó de poner el 3-2 al caer la séptima entrada con elevado de sacrificio al jardín central, bueno para que anotara Fabricio Macíaspor los mazatlecos.

En el cierre de la octava entrada, Tucson se mete en problemas y con golpe a Andrés Alvarez con casa llena, Venados anota la del empate 3-3, que salió barato ya que no pudieron concretar más, dejando los senderos llenos de Venados que no pudieron llegar al homeplate.

Ya en la novena, Gaige Howard anotó la de la diferencia para Tucson, en rodado de sacrificio de Ramón Mendoza para poner arriba 4-3 a la escuadra de Arizona.

En la novena y ya con dos outs y dos compañeros en base, Estamy Ureña conecta sencillo para remolcar a Santiago Gómez con la carrera del empate a 4, marcando la salida de Garret Alexander que no pudo sostener la ventaja que le otorgó su equipo en la parte alta del inning.

Las entradas extras se hicieron presentes en Mazatlán y Tucson supo concretar con hit productor de River Town, anotando Edgar Lugo la quinta carrera del equipo de Tucson. Venados no pudo concretar y con esto el partido terminó 5-4 en 10 capítulos.

Edwin Valle (2-0) se apuntó la victoria al lanzar una entrada y un tercio.
