TUCSON STUMBLES IN HERMOSILLO IN THE SECOND GAME OF THE SEASON

Hermosillo, Sonora, October 16, 2025.- The second game between the Naranjeros de Hermosillo and the Tucson Baseball Team took place in the capital of Sonora on Thursday night. The Sonora team won both inaugural games, defeating the Tucson team 9 to 4.

The winning pitcher was left-hander Ozzie Méndez, who pitched one inning, walking two and striking out one without allowing a run. The loss went to Jorge Sauceda, who allowed four runs, all unearned, in one-third of the pitching.

Despite getting off to a good start, scoring two runs in the first inning—one RBI by Gaige Howard and another on a fielding error by TT Bowens, scoring Howard on the play—Tucson couldn't hold on to the lead and allowed five Naranjeros to lead off the top of the third inning. The visitors regained the lead, which they would never relinquish.

In the fifth inning, Hermosillo scored another, but Tucson responded with a run in the bottom of the same inning to make it 6-3 in favor of the Naranjeros. Tucson's run came on spikes by Agustín Ruiz via a single by Gaige Howard.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tucson closed within 6-4 on a Bobby Bradley single, scoring José Carlos Ureña from third.

In the top of the ninth, Hermosillo scored three runs on a two-run double by TT Bowens and another on a double by Angel Ramírez.

Tomorrow begins the three-game regular season series against the Naranjeros at Fernando Valenzuela Stadium, with Tucson playing at home. Zoé Carrillo will be sent to the first game against Eduardo Vera for the Naranjeros.

TUCSON CAE EN HERMOSILLO EN EL SEGUNDO DE LA TEMPORADA

Hermosillo, Son., 16 de octubre 2025.- El segundo encuentro entre Naranjeros de Hermosillo y Tucson Baseball Team se llevó a cabo en la capital sonorense la noche de este jueves, los de sonora se llevaron ambos encuentros inaugurales al vencer esta noche 9 carreras por 4 al equipo de Tucson.

El pitcher de la victoria fue el zurdo Ozzie Méndez qie trabajó durante una entrada regalando 2 bases y ponchando a 1 sin permitir carrera. La derrota se la llevó Jorge Sauceda al permitir 4 carreras, todas sucias en un tercio de trabajo.

A pesar de comenzar con el pie derecho anotando 2 carreras en la misma primera entrada, una producida por Gaige Howard con doblete y otra por error de fildeo de TT Bowens, anotando Howard en la jugada, Tucson no pudo mantener la ventaja y permitió rally de 5 de Naranjeros en la apertura del tercer episodio para que los visitantes retomaran la ventaja, la cual ya no perderían.

En la quinta entrada, Hermosillo anotó una más, pero Tucson respondió al cierre del mismo capítulo con una rayita para poner pizarra parcial de 6-3 en favor de los Naranjeros. La carrera de Tucson llegó en los spikes de Agustín Ruiz vía sencillo de Gaige Howard.

En el cierre del séptimo inning, Tucson se acercó 6-4con sencillo de Bobby Bradley anotando José Carlos Ureña desde la tercera.

En la apertura del noveno y último capítulo, Hermosillo logro timbrar en 3 ocasiones con doblete productor de 2 de TT Bowens y una más con doblete de Angel Ramírez.

Mañana comienza serie de rol regular de 3 juegos contra Naranjeros desde el estadio Fernando Valenzuela, siendo Tucson el equipo que juega como local, enviando a Zoé Carrillo al primer encuentro en contra de Eduardo Vera por parte de los Naranjeros.
