TUCSON FALLS AND SUFFERS THREE-WAY LOSS
Culiacán, Sinaloa, December 14, 2025 (TBT Press) - For the third consecutive night, the Tucson baseball team succumbed to the Tomateros de Culiacán, this time by a score of 4-1 in the final game of the series in the Sinaloa capital.
With a home run by J.P. Martínez, the Tomateros took the lead in the very first inning against Zoé Carrillo, who ended up being the losing pitcher tonight.
Luis Verdugo drove in a run in the third inning, hitting a single that brought Jon Singleton home with the second run of the game.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Tomateros increased their lead to 3-0 with Orlando Martínez's eighth home run of the season, which he launched over the fence between center and right field.
Tucson broke the shutout in the top of the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly by Jesús Fabela, allowing River Town to score on a sacrifice fly from third base, making the score 3-1.
The score became 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh with a home run by J.P. Martínez, his second of the night and tenth of the season.
The winning pitcher, Fineas Del Bonta-Smith, pitched five innings with one strikeout and one walk, while Anthony Gose earned the save, his 12th of the season.
Next Tuesday, Tucson will host the Venados at Teodoro Mariscal Stadium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, for a three-game series in the Sinaloa port city.
TUCSON CAE Y LIGA TRES DERROTAS CONSECUTIVAS
Culiacán, Sinaloa, 14 de diciembre 2025 (Prensa TBT).- Por tercer noche consecutiva, el equipo de beisbol de Tucson sucumbió ante Tomateros de Culiacán, hoy por pizarra de 4-1 en el último encuentro de la serie desde la capital sinaloense.
Con un cuadrangular de J.P.Martínez, Tomateros tomó la ventaja en la misma primera entrada frente a Zoé Carrillo, que esta noche resultó ser el pitcher derrotado.
Luis Verdugo produjo una en la tercera tanda, conectando sencillo que mandó a Jon Singleton con la segunda carrera del encuentro.
En la parte baja de la quinta entrada, Tomateros aumentó la ventaja 3-0 con el octavo cuadrangular de la campaña de Orlando Martínezque la sacó del terreno entre los jardines central y dercho.
Tucson se quitó la blanqueada en la apertura del séptimo inning con elevado de sacrificio de Jesús Fabela, bueno para que anotara River Town en pisa y corr desde tercera base y poniendo el marcador 3-1.
El 4-1 se concretó en el cirre del mismo séptimo episodio con homerun de J.P. Martínez, su segundo de la noche y décimo de la campaña.
El pitcher de la victoria con 5 entradas de trabajo, 1 ponche y 1 base, fue el importado Fineas Del Bonta-Smith, con salvamento para Anthony Gose, para llegar a 12 en la campaña.
Próximo martes, Tucson recibirá a Venados en el estadio Teodoro Mariscal de Mazatlán, Sinaloa para sostener serie de 3 encuentros en el puerto sinaloense.
