TUCSON CLOSES A WEEK OF RESPONSE AND REMAINS IN THE POSTSEASON RACE
The Tucson Baseball Team wrapped up a challenging week in the second half of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico with a 2–4 record, but showed clear signs of competitiveness and timely response, highlighted by a hard-fought series win over the Jaguares de Nayarit, two games to one, at the Coloso del Pacífico Alejo Peralta.
Offensively, the week was productive for Agustín Ruiz, Marco Chicuate, and River Town, who combined for 26 base hits, serving as the driving force of the TBT lineup. Marco Chicuate stood out in particular, enjoying a red-hot stretchwith home runs on consecutive nights, reaffirming his impact in the middle of the order and his ability to deliver in key situations.
From a standings perspective, and despite being swept over the weekend in Culiacán, the combination of results leaves Tucson just two games back of the Algodoneros de Guasave in the overall standings, a manageable gap with several decisive series still ahead. In that context, the upcoming matchup against the Venados de Mazatlán takes on added importance, shaping up as a pivotal series that could help define the club’s direction as the regular season winds down.
On the pitching side, the TBT welcomed new foreign reinforcements who are beginning to add depth to the staff. Texas native Mark Simon delivered a strong week, making two starts and logging 11.2 innings, allowing only two earned runs for a 1.54 ERA—a display of consistency even though a win has yet to be reflected in his record.
Out of the bullpen, Christian Edwards experienced an eventful week, finishing with a 1–2 record, highlighted by earning the win in his debut against the Jaguares de Nayarit. Meanwhile, Colombian right-hander Jasier Herrera made an intriguing start against the Tomateros de Culiacán; although he was charged with the loss, he showed competitive traits in his first outing in Mexican professional baseball.
With the margin for error narrowing and each game carrying increased weight in the standings, the Tucson Baseball Team enters a decisive phase of the schedule fully aware of the challenge ahead—and of the group’s potential. The postseason race remains wide open, and the final stretch of the season is shaping up as a true test of character for TBT.
TUCSON CIERRA UNA SEMANA DE REACCIÓN Y SE MANTIENE EN LA PELEA POR LA POSTEMPORADA
El Tucson Baseball Team concluyó una semana de contrastes dentro de la segunda vuelta de la Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico, finalizando con récord de 2-4, pero dejando señales claras de competitividad y respuesta en momentos clave, particularmente con la serie ganada ante los Jaguares de Nayarit por dos juegos a uno en el Coloso del Pacífico Alejo Peralta.
A nivel ofensivo, la semana fue productiva para Agustín Ruiz, Marco Chicuate y River Town, quienes en conjunto conectaron 26 imparables, convirtiéndose en el motor del lineup del TBT. Destaca especialmente el momento de Marco Chicuate, quien vivió una semana encendida al conectar cuadrangular en noches consecutivas, confirmando su peso en el orden ofensivo y su capacidad para producir en situaciones de presión.
En cuanto al panorama general, y pese a la barrida sufrida el fin de semana en Culiacán, la combinación de resultados mantiene a Tucson a solo dos juegos de los Algodoneros de Guasave en el standing general, una distancia manejable cuando restan series determinantes en el calendario.
