TUCSON BASEBALLTEAM FALLS IN ITS FIRST MATCHUP IN CAJEME

The southern Arizona ballclub opened its second home series of the regular season, officially hosting the Yaquis de Obregón in the historic city of Cajeme, in a pitching duel between Dalton Rodriguez for Tucson and Felipe Gonzalez for the Tribe.
The Yaquis struck early against Rodriguez in the first inning, plating two runs on the spikes of Allen Cordoba from Panama and Riley Unroe from the United States, jumping ahead right from the start.
Tucson answered back against Gonzalez when Chuyito Fabela reached base after being hit by a pitch and Gaige Howard delivered his sixth double of the season to drive in the run for the Old Pueblo.
Obregón added on against reliever Edwyn Valle, pushing across two runs in the seventh and another in the eighth inning off Jorge Luis Sauceda.
Tucson threatened again in the bottom of the eighth when Gaige Howard ripped his second double of the night, but the rally fell short.
That sealed the final numbers on the scoreboard, with the starting pitchers taking the decisions — Felipe Gonzalez (2-0) earned the win for Obregón, while Dalton Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss for Tucson.

La novena del sur de Arizona arrancó su segunda serie como local del calendario regular recibiendo administrativamente a los Yaquis de Obregón en la antigua Cajeme, en un duelo de pitcheo que enfrentó a Dalton Rodríguez por la escuadra de Tucson y a Felipe González por la Tribu.
Los Yaquis atacaron desde el primer capítulo al cachanilla Rodríguez, timbrando par de carreras en los spikes del panameño Allen Córdoba y del norteamericano Riley Unroe, tomando ventaja desde los primeros momentos del encuentro.
Tucson descontó también ante el abridor González, cuando Chuyito Fabela se embasó vía pelotazo y Gaige Howard conectó su sexto doblete de la temporada, produciendo así la carrera para el Old Pueblo.
Obregón atacó al relevo de Edwyn Valle, anotando dos carreras más en la séptima entrada y una adicional en la octava ante los envíos de Jorge Luis Sauceda.
Tucson volvió a tocar la puerta en el fondo del octavo inning cuando Gaige Howard conectó su segundo doblete de la noche, aunque la ofensiva no logró mayor daño.
Con ello, se pusieron números definitivos al encuentro, donde los abridores se llevaron los créditos: Felipe González (2-0) se adjudicó la victoria, mientras que Dalton Rodríguez (0-2) cargó con el revés.
