TOMATEROS SECURE SERIES AT HOME IN 10 INNINGS
Culiacán, Sinaloa, December 13, 2025 (TBT Press) - Nine innings weren't enough in Culiacán when the Tomateros and Tucson faced off in the second game of their series in the Sinaloa capital.
It was a tremendous pitching duel in which both offenses were silenced by the pitchers who battled to prevent any major damage.
It was Tucson who put some color on the scoreboard, scoring in the fourth inning with Gaige Hoeard's first home run of the season off Manny Barreda, giving his team a 1-0 lead.
The Guindas tied the game in the same way Tucson had, with a solo home run by Luis Verdugo in the bottom of the seventh inning off starter Mark Simon, who had a quality outing in his debut with the Arizona team, pitching 6 2/3 innings with 3 strikeouts, 1 walk, 1 run, and only 4 hits.
In the ninth, after a tremendous trick play by Jesús Fabela for the second out, Samar Leyva couldn't field a ground ball to shortstop, allowing Luis Verdugo to score the winning run for the home team, making it 2-1 after 10 innings.
The losing pitcher was Christian Edwards, who had the bases loaded with only 1 out in the final inning.
EN 10 ENTRADAS, TOMATEROS ASEGURA LA SERIE EN SU CASA
Culiacán, Sinaloa, 13 de diciembre 2025 (Prensa TBT).- 9 entradas no fueron suficientes en Culiacán, cuando las escuadras de Tomateros y Tucson se enfrentaron en el segundo juego de la serie en la capital sinaloense.
Tremendo duelo de pitcheo en el que ambas ofensivas estuvieron silenciadas por los pitchers que se fajaron para no permitir daños mayores en el encuentro.
Fue Tucson el que le puso color a la pizarra anotando en l cuarta entrada con el primer cuadrangular de la campaña para Gaige Hoeard ante los envíos de Manny Barreda poniendo arriba a su equipo 1-0.
Los guindas empataron el encuentro de la misma manera que lo hizo Tucson, con cuadrangular solitario de Luis Verdugo en la baja de la séptima entrada sobre el abridor Mark Simon, que tuvo una salida de calidad en su presentación con el equipo de Arizona, lanzando 6 y 2 tercios de 3 ponches, 1 bases 1 carrera y solo 4 hits.
En la novena después de tremenda jugada de engaño de Jesús Fabela para el segundo out, Samar Leyva no pudo dominar rola por el campocorto, permitiendo que Luis Verdugo anotara la carrera de la victoria para los locales al son de 2 carreras por 1 en 10 entradas.
El derrotado fue Chirstian Edwards que llego a tener bases llenas con solo 1 out en la última entrada.
