HISTORIC VICTORY IN THE TUCSON BASEBALL TEAM´S FIRST PRESEASON GAME!
Nogales, Arizona (TBT press)– The Tucson Baseball Team got off to a good start in its preparations for its inaugural season with a 4-2 victory over the Hermosillo Naranjeros this Saturday in a thrilling preseason game held at War Memorial Stadium in Nogales.
Starter Dalton Rodríguez set the pace with three quality innings. Working out of the bullpen were Daniel Zazueta (1 inning), Jorge Luis Sauceda (2 complete innings with 4 strikeouts, earning the win), Eduardo Mares (1 inning), Erick Preciado (1 inning), and Óscar Soria (1 inning), who capped off a solid pitching effort that contained the Hermosillo offense.
Tucson took a lead they wouldn't relinquish from the second inning on, when Oziel Flores' RBI single sent Marco Chicuate home. In the third inning, the offense responded again: Agustín Ruiz produced a single that scored Hans Chacón, and a single by Ramón Mendoza drove in runs by Ruiz and Chicuate, making the score 4-0.
The Naranjeros responded with a run in the fifth inning and another in the seventh, but it wasn't enough to turn things around. For Hermosillo, Aníbal Cervantes started the game and took the loss.
The Tucson team will look to maintain its strong momentum this Sunday, when the second game of the preseason series is played at War Memorial Stadium, starting at 1:00 p.m.
This historic victory marks an exciting start to the club's young history, as it continues its preparation schedule, fine-tuning details ahead of its debut season in the Mexican Pacific Arch League.

El Tucson Baseball Team arrancó con el pie derecho su preparación rumbo a la temporada inaugural al imponerse este sábado 4 carreras por 2 a los Naranjeros de Hermosillo, en un vibrante duelo de pretemporada celebrado en el War Memorial Stadium de Nogales.
El abridor Dalton Rodríguez marcó el ritmo del encuentro con tres entradas completas de calidad. Desde el bullpen trabajaron Daniel Zazueta (1 entrada), Jorge Luis Sauceda (2 entradas completas con 4 ponches, acreditándose la victoria), Eduardo Mares (1 entrada), Erick Preciado (1 entrada) y Óscar Soria (1 entrada), para sellar una sólida labor monticular que contuvo a la ofensiva hermosillense.
Tucson tomó ventaja que no soltaría desde la segunda entrada, cuando Oziel Flores, con sencillo productor, envió al plato a Marco Chicuate. En el tercer inning, la ofensiva volvió a responder: Agustín Ruiz produjo con imparable que permitió anotar a Hans Chacón, y un sencillo de Ramón Mendoza impulsó las carreras de Ruiz y Chicuate, para colocar la pizarra 4-0.
Los Naranjeros reaccionaron con una carrera en la quinta entrada y otra más en la séptima, pero no fue suficiente para revertir la historia. Por Hermosillo, Aníbal Cervantes abrió el juego y cargó con la derrota.
El equipo de Tucson buscará mantener el buen paso este domingo, cuando se dispute el segundo juego de la serie de pretemporada en el mismo War Memorial Stadium, a partir de la 1:00 de la tarde.
Este triunfo con sabor histórico marca un inicio ilusionante en la joven historia del club, que continuará su calendario de preparación afinando detalles de cara a nuestra campaña debut en la Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacifico.
