HISTORIC FIRST GAME FOR TUCSON IN HERMOSILLO

Hermosillo, Sonora, October 15, 2025 – History was made in Hermosillo tonight when the Tucson Baseball Team took the field at Fernando Valenzuela Stadium for what would be their first game in the ARCO Mexican Pacific League for the 2025-2026 season.

The team, led by Willie Romero, faced the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, managed by Juan Gabriel Castro, in a magical night from the capital of Sonora.

After the lively and colorful opening ceremony, the game of playball was played at Fernando Valenzuela Stadium, marking the start of a new campaign in the search for the season's champion and Mexico's next representative in the Caribbean Series.

The first hit for the Tucson team came off the bat of Jesús "Chuyito" Fabela, who lined a double through third base, safely reaching second.

Tucson took the lead in the first inning with an RBI from José Carlos Ureña, who drove in Agustín Ruiz for Tucson's historic first run in the ARCO Mexican Pacific League.

The Naranjeros tied the score in the bottom of the third with an RBI from Harold Ramírez.

A solo home run by veteran Agustín Murillo in the bottom of the fourth inning and two more runs gave Hermosillo a 4-1 lead over Tucson.

Murillo again produced a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to make it 5-1, and Andrés Sosa doubled, driving in Reivaj García with the sixth run for Sonora.

Thomas Dorminy took the loss for Tucson, pitching 3.1 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, while striking out two and walking two. The winner was Wilmer Ríos of the Naranjeros, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing one run with three strikeouts and two walks.

The final score of 6-1 in Hermosillo marked the debut of the Tucson Baseball Team in the 2024-2025 ARCO Mexican Pacific League season. Tomorrow, the team will play its second game of five against the Naranjeros at Fernando Valenzuela Stadium.

Hermosillo, Son., 15 de octubre 2025.- Esta noche se hizo historia en Hermosillo, cuando Tucson Baseball Team saltó al terreno del estadio Fernando Valenzuela en lo que sería su primer juego en la Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico, Temporada 2025-2026.

Los comandados por Willie Romero se enfrentaron a los Naranjeros de Hermosillo, que dirige Juan Gabriel Castro en gran duelo en una noche llena de magia desde la capital sonorense.

Después de la animada y vistosa ceremonia inaugural, se cantó el playball en el estadio Fernando Valenzuela, marcando de esta manera el inicio de una nueva campaña en búsqueda del campeón de la temporada y próximo representante de México en la Serie del Caribe.

El primer hit del equipo de Tucson, llegó en el bat de Jesús “Chuyito” Fabela con una línea por tercera base llegando safe a segunda con doblete.

Tucson logró ponerse adelante en la misma primera entrada con producción para José Carlos Ureña que mandó a Agustín Ruiz al pentágono con la histórica primera carrera de Tucson en la Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico.

Naranjeros empató el score en el cierre de la tercera entrada con carrera producida para Harold Ramírez.

Solitario homerun del veterano Agustín Murillo al cierre del cuarto episodio y par de anotaciones más, puso a Hermosillo con ventaja 4-1 sobre Tucson.

Agustín de nuevo produce en la baja de la octava con elevado de sacrificio para el 5-1 y Andrés Sosa con doblete, manda a Reivaj García con la 6ta carrera para los de Sonora.

Thomas Dorminy cargó con la derrota por Tucson, al lanzar 3.1 entradas permitiendo 3 carreras, 2 de ellas limpias, ponchando a 2 y regalando 2 bases por bolas. Por su parte, el ganador resultó Wilmer Ríos de Naranjeros lanzando por espacio de 5.1 entradas de 1 carrera, 3 ponches y 2 bases por bolas.

Pizarra final de 6-1 en Hermosillo marcó el debut para Tucson Baseball Team en la temporada 2024-2025 de la liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico, que mañana tendrá su segundo encuentro de 5 a disputar contra la escuadra naranjera en el Estadio Fernando Valenzuela.
